Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
Account data: When you sign up, we collect your display name, avatar colour, and email address (via Firebase Authentication).
Activity data: Drink logs, session timestamps, venue check-ins, route participation, comments, reactions, group, challenge, and moderation records.
Location data: With your permission, we use location to detect nearby venues and build your route. Precise live location is used only during an active group session, is shared only with approved session participants, and can be disabled with Privacy Mode.
Photos: Profile photos and session photos you upload are stored in Firebase Storage.
Device data: Push token, app version, update channel, and basic diagnostic logs needed to deliver and support the service.
Purchase data: Subscription state is managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.
2. How we use it
- Power core app features (sessions, leaderboards, challenges)
- Personalise your experience (naming themes, stats)
- Send push notifications with your consent
- Protect users, investigate reports, and prevent abuse
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the services that power Barrmin:
- Google Firebase — database, auth, storage
- Apple / Google — sign-in and push notifications
- Expo — app builds, OTA updates, and push delivery
4. Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes all personal data within 30 days.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@barrmin.com for any requests.
6. Children
Barrmin is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
